The Law of Attraction

Do you believe in magic?

I don’t know about you, but every time I see a magic trick, I’m blown away. Maybe it’s because I can appreciate the unknown or it’s because I’m like the most gullible person ever but I just can’t get enough of them.

Deep down, I feel a little skeptical though. Once my eyes have returned to normal size (from being completely wide from awe) and I’m able to stop saying WOOOOW, I start having the typical doubts. “There’s no way that’s real…right?”, “That’s not humanly possible!” And although I can’t exactly explain the idea of magic, I’m not able to prove that it isn’t real either.

That’s kinda what the Law of Attraction is like.

The law of attraction by definition is that like attracts like. I think of it like magnets — when you have two magnets that match, they attract one another and hold on tight. We can apply it to our lives like placing an order; what you ask for, you shall receive. It sounds a little bogus but the sh*t works, and it has for many people. Successful people of the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carey, Denzel Washington, and countless more.

Here’s the long answer.

According to, simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually.

Fact or fiction?

Just like magic, many people ask if the law of attraction is the real deal, and more importantly does it actually work — it absolutely does. It’s rooted in science (yay science). The smarty pants’ say that it has something to do with quantum physics. But believe me, you don’t want me to explain it to you. I switched majors from forensic science in college so I’ll let the experts explain it.

How to achieve it

“Unfortunately, so many of us are still blind to the potential that is locked deep within us. Consequently, it is all too easy to leave your thoughts and emotions unchecked. This sends out the wrong thoughts and attracts more unwanted emotions and events into your life.”

Ctrl, Alt, Delete. Start by changing your mindset. I don’t want to keep beating this dead horse but we have got to change the way we think and speak to ourselves. Speak like you’ve already won the battle and you certainly will.

Be a mirror. There’s a saying that I heard once that has always stuck with me. It says that you should dress for the job that you want, not the one that you have. It’s such a strong saying that relates entirely to our concept of manifesting great things. If you arrive to work every day, play the part, do your best and think like the CEO, you will see success in your career, your attitude, and should start packing boxes for your fancy new office.

Putting the law into action

There are many great practices and activities that can help you connect with the universe to put the Law of Attraction into action. One great idea is a vision board! I created my first board this week and my attitude has already improved and I’m feeling excited! It forced me to articulate the things that I want to see in my life this year and the way that I want my attitude to change. What do you think of how it turned out?

Another great thing to do to channel this law is to write things down. If you aren’t the crafty type and want to save some time cutting small pieces of magazines, grab a pen and paper and write down your vision. Put it on your refrigerator or your desk, or even on your bathroom mirror. Ensure that they are in a place that you will see them often and remind yourself that you are one moment closer to your breakthrough.

Where to start

There are plenty of areas where we’d like to see improvement. Many of us certainly wouldn’t complain if we had healthy love lives, thriving relationships, commas in our bank accounts, a clean body, and a fulfilling personal life. Below are some resources for you to start channeling greatness into your life. Enjoy!

  5. I started writing my daily wishes, and I did see a difference. But it’s hard to catch up.

    1. It’s definitely a challenge to start; I’m noticing that it takes a great deal of discipline. But so far, I’m seeing some changes so perhaps I’m on the same track as you (: we’ll get there.

      1. Also I have kind of the same wishes every day. My life does not have much WOW. Therefore, it felt boring after a while

      2. Whoever said that life was designed to have lots of WOW is full of it lol it doesn’t happen on it’s own. Your wishes are your own sparkle and if they mean something to you, that’s enough wow power to me! Maybe you can scale back to writing your wishes once a week or once a month and keeping them nearby (: and for the record, my wishes are usually the same too. I’ve been wishing for the same few things for a few years now. Don’t give up on it ❤

      3. Yes you are right. I should focus on writing my wishes and something positive once a week. Maybe writing something positive every Monday will help. That way I can be consistent and it’ll make Mondays productive as well.

        Liked by 1 person

      4. Absolutely! Start making your Monday’s suck a little less by starting the week on a high note. What I tried just this week was coming into work on Monday with the same mood that I do on Friday. It’s crazy how we slump into the office on Monday and we nearly knock each other over in the elevator when we come in on Friday! It’s all about reshaping our mindset. I’m right here with you girl! And one day, if you care to share your wishes, I’ll think about them with you so they can become reality (:

      5. Aww.. thank you soo much paige. You are right on the Mondays part. We have just taken Mondays as horribly slow and inproductive days but they are completely normal. When I was working, I always went to work with a happy mood and cheerful smile. I thought “you have to spend the day whether you do it happily or with burden on your shoulders. Therefore, I always choose to be welcoming with Mondays” and trust me they are not that bad at all, its just our mentality against them

      6. Of course love! It’s my pleasure ❤ I love the idea of choosing to welcome Monday's because as you said, after all, they are basically the same. But today is Friday so that is wonderful! We accomplished another week and can look forward to a (hopefully) restful and enjoyable weekend. Have a great one love!

      7. Definitely, all days are the same. It just depends on us, how we take it. Have a great weekand

    1. Thank you so much!! It’s also the background on my phone. I’m really trying to channel this sucker LOL. I appreciate your kind words (: the ctrl + alt + delete thing is a challenge at first but so far, it’s really been working for me and my attitude is improving so much! You should give it a try

i am learning about LOA. My first and biggest conflict was with my religious practices. Would they cohabit-ate, or would one throw the other out the door. But I think I figured it out. If you’d like to see my answer go to
