Blogger to Blogger

We all remember the moment when we first decided to start a blog.

We can recall where we were sitting (or standing), what stage of life we were in, our emotional state, the clothes we were wearing, and even what we had for breakfast — okay, okay. I know that was a bit of a stretch, but you get the idea.

When we first get the crazy thought to “start a blog” it all starts with an idea…or twenty billion. Which usually results in us sitting in a dark room surrounded by wads of crumpled paper from all of the brainstorming.

We also confide in our dear ol’ friend Google to search for the answers to our burning questions.

But some questions we just can’t find the answers to. Either because the blogging monsters are selfish and want to keep the money secrets all to themselves (which I highly doubt because they all started out just like us – poor and inspired) OR we just can’t quite figure out how to put words to the questions that we are so desperately searching for. But I have a little secret: I’ve learned quite a few handy-dandy things from real bloggers.

Well, I’ll be damned.

No, I’m not talking about the giant bloggers who are so busy being awesome that they’ve hired someone to answer all of our innocent beginner questions. I’m talking about the bloggers who take the time to remember the days before they hit the jackpot and help a sister out!

Coffee dates, text, email, Facebook, and sliding into the Twitter DMs — you name it, I’ve done it. As a result of all of my internet scouring and slight stalking, I’ve picked up some awesome tips and tricks from bloggers who were kind enough to share their wisdom.

After an amazing phone call with the lovely Scribbles & Tostitos this weekend, she said something amazing. “This was great! We should do this again and invite a few other people so we can all learn from one another!”

That comment sparked a great idea: start the conversation amongst a group of growing bloggers. From the beginners who are still tinkering with WordPress plans and layouts to the bloggers who kinda think they’ve gotten the hang of things.

I’ve created a community called ‘Blogger to Blogger’ where we can all get lost in conversation, hop on a call or video chat, ask some of our burning questions and share our knowledge to those who want to learn and grow their blog babies. And if this little idea blossoms, maybe we can even get some of the greats to join us and share some of their gold!

Visit the Facebook page!

(And please be kind – I know that it’s a little naked at the moment but not for long!)

What do you guys think?! Would you be interested in being a part of something like this?

Drop your thoughts in the comments and reach out to me if you’re interested!

I’m going to start exploring some options and create a game plan for those who are interested in my little project. Please join the Facebook group and as always, I can’t wait to hear from you ❤

Oh wow, I can’t believe the timing of this! I was just thinking today about how blogging is a lot harder than I thought. I’ve been mostly approaching it as an ambitious hobbyist, but I’d love to take it further. I love your drive & hustle–reaching out to other bloggers to learn the ropes isn’t something I’ve ever thought about doing. I didn’t think that was an option. The facebook group sounds perfect, I’d definitely be interested! Thanks for getting this started!

    1. Oh my goodness yes, blogging is so underrated! It’s much more work beneath the surface. The top bloggers make it look so shiny and perfect but truthfully, there are many questions and hours of work that fuel our little blogs. That’s why I wanted to make space for a community to ask some of the tough questions we’re struggling with and to be able to celebrate the small successes (or the big revelations) along the way! I would LOVE to have you as a part of our b2b family ❤ I've been back at the drawing board trying to redefine it's direction so I have a few ideas up my sleeve. Just like our blogs, this community is a work in progress. It gets better as we get better! Here's the link!
