Monday Motivation: How You Make People Feel

Happy Monday my friends! Today and for many Monday’s to come will be Monday Motivation, where I’ll share a motivational quote, tip, or idea for you to keep in mind over the course of the week.

Monday’s aren’t always our favorite days of the week — we’re gearing up for another week at work and productivity and we’ve kissed the weekend goodbye, but this day doesn’t have to be all that bad! This morning I’d like to drop this gem by Maya Angelou about the things that we can do to make the people around us feel good. I bet I know what you’re thinking.

What can I do to make someone feel good or special Miss Paige? 

You can do literally anything! No matter how big or small, take just a moment this week to put a smile on someone’s face. Bring a box of doughnuts to the office, offer to make coffee for a friend, smile, and wave to a kind stranger on the way to your car. The options are limitless!

Just think about how any of those things and a number of others would make you feel? I know that it would completely make my day if someone was kind enough to think of me like that.

We need more of that kind of love in the world. 

We’re coming off of an extended weekend from Thanksgiving so I’m planning on going above and beyond at my office to get to know my new coworkers. I’m going to take a little extra time to ask about how they spent their holiday and what was their favorite part of their weekend.

    Maya Angelou is my favorite!


    1. Isn’t she wonderful?! I got a line from one of her famous poems as my very first tattoo! She’ll be a part of me forever 🙂

        My Dad bought me I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings when I was a teenager and I was hooked. She spoke at my college and I was So Excited.
