After a challenging year, how can you reflect and be thankful? Here are 7 things that I am thankful for this holiday season.
This morning, I woke up with a new mindset. I left the fear, nerves, and self-doubt behind and held my head high with confidence. I am a gladiator.
Seven days of packing, two all-nighters, six round trips, four flights of stairs, and a monsoon later, we’re officially moved into our new downtown apartment — as a couple! We’ve traded in our cozy West Valley nest for the transition to the bustling city life of downtown Phoenix.
I’ve been the “new girl” my entire life. From high school to high school as a teenager, to going off to college, and the most recent start of my new full-time job.
Today marked my 8th week as the Freshman Communication and Marketing Coordinator in ASU’s enrollment services department. If you would have asked me where I would be in my career 6 years ago, I couldn’t have imagined where I am today — not even close. Being an influential part of marketing and branding for ASU has literally been my dream. I’ve gone from an obsessed ASU fan to an employee in what feels like days! But in order to get here, I’ve had to make some pretty tough decisions.
It’s been months since I published my last post. The entire summer to be exact. But I assure you, I’ve had a few darn good reasons why. These last few months have been by far, the most challenging of my life to date. I’m not even sure where to begin.
But I’m breaking my silence today because I’m ready to talk.

Habits. We all have them. Good or bad, there are always a handful of things that we just seem to do naturally. So I’ve made a little list to share with you all, but mostly to hold myself accountable for some of the good habits that I’d like to start this year!
A week ago today, I celebrated a very special milestone. One that I have dreamt of since I was little. June 13th, 2016 marked the day that I began paving my way into the professional world. I celebrated my one year anniversary at my first full-time job as an advertising and marketing professional.
I’ve spent the last 4 hours of this day scrolling through my social media feeds admiring happy family photos of my friends with their fathers. Usually, on this day I’ve spent in celebration of my own father…but this year is a bit different.
Do you have a place, a thought, or a feeling that seems to bring you peace of mind or comfort? Find your safe place.
I can still smell the salt water and hear the waves crashing into one another. The dark blue water and the crystal clear sky. The warm burning sun on my skin. It all seemed like a dream or a figment of my imagination. Luckily though, these are cherished memories of my incredible Carnival Cruise.
